Holiday rental scam

We have a Guest Cottage in Florida and receive these inquiries all the time and they don't have a clue where we're located.
It goes like this.
We need a place for our honeymoon, conference, blah, blah, blah, we'll send you a bank check for the deposit, the check arrives and it's drawn on a real bank, close examination reveals somthings wrong, like the printing on the paper is askew (cheap check writing software).
Now, the check far exceeds the rental amount and would we please send them the differenc so they hsve travling money and they think you will send them the money before the bank check clears, which of course it never will, I strung them out for weeks just for fun, I still have the check hanging on my office wall. Latly as soon as I see the scam coming I just ignore them, they gey tired of emailing and go away.
As far as gettin back, good question. Just waste there time. It does get bothersome however.
